About The Blog   2 comments

Much of what I write here will likely not be about Korea in particular.  A lot of things go through my mind and happen to me that are not specifically about this country. I guess I’ve been here long enough that I’m not all that interested in describing it as a place where Koreans live, but rather as a place where humans live. Most specifically, it’s the place where I live – and since these are the only eyes I’ve got, very likely it’s most often going to be about me.

With any luck, though, it will only occasionally be about me. My life is boring, and that’s the way I like it. You probably don’t want to know exactly how boring.

The blog? It’s a hobby, nothing more, a way to spend a little time when I have a little to spare. I’ll make no promises about how often I put things here, or how enjoyable it might be for other people. I’m not here to entertain you – just me.

Occasionally I find myself in possession of an opinion. If I write it down someplace, the process helps me ascertain whether it’s something I really do agree with, and whether the reasons are good ones. Sometimes, the process makes me change my mind, and I’m grateful when that happens.

This is a place to store things, mostly. I’ve been a habitué of various message boards for several years, usually ones that harbor a lot of expatriate English teachers here in South Korea such as myself. Often things I write in one of them or another will end up here, just so I’ll know where to kind them later.

You can send email to thebobster9ATgmail.com. If I’m not busy I’ll say hi back at you.

  1. Hello.

I’m a teacher in JangHeung County Jeollanamdo where I also volunteer with a childrens center.

With the childrens center we also run a group home for children. We currently have 6 children in our home.

I am doing a Christmas program to provide gifts for the children this year. I am hoping you might put some information about it on your blog.

Please send me an email if you’re interested and I can give you links and anything else you want to know about the group.

    All assistance greatly appreciated.

  2. wow. ive been reading your blog and you seem like a really cool person. I’m glad you are having fun in korea.

it sounds like you have had quite the adventure. I am new to korea and am looking for some cool people to hangout with since I’ve been having a hard time making friends since my school is small and my co teachers are much older. there is one young person but she’s got a korean bf so she never seems to want to hangout. anyway, just trying to make new friends. I don’t have a blog just fb so if I don’t seem to much of a freak to you please shoot me an email on fb or whatever. itd be nice to talk to someone who lives here and is friendly and open minded.
